Why does adopting a pet cost what it does?
Please understand that we bring a lot of value to you when you adopt a pet from us. We care for the pet, provide shelter, food, love, and that doesn’t even include what it costs to run our building and to keep it staffed. We lose money on every adoption from the sheer costs of pet care and operations. Here is a brief summary of the value you get when you adopt a pet from us:
- Pet is vaccinated (rabies, distemper, bordatella) cost is $25
- Pet is microchipped, cost is $45
- Physical veterinary exam, cost is $50-65
- Flea treatment, cost is $20
- Spay/Neuter, cost is $65-$400
- Heartworm prevention, cost is $20
- Deworming and Fecal, cost is $35
- Ear mite exam & Treatment, cost is $35
- Feline leukemia and FIV blood test (at your request), cost is $45
Every adoption includes all of this, a VALUE of over $300 for each cat and over $500 for each dog!
A Lifetime of Love and Companionship = PRICELESS!
